Taking the ASCP Plunge

Ok, so I finally did it. I took the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint plunge. Well, first, I went and bought the paint and then, true to form, I let it sit in my house for a month trying to decide what to paint first.

Even though it is just paint and easy to redo, I'm a baby so I started small with a mirror.  It had this charming rustic look that just didn't match what I wanted.

So, I taped off the inside part of the mirror and got to painting.
I did two coats of duck egg blue because it matched the fabric for my family room perfectly.
All done.
The mirror is way too small for the mantle in my family room but it lives there for now...a reminder that I need to get painting on some of my bigger projects.

Have you  painted anything recently? Tried ASCP?

  1. I love Annie Sloan! It's definitely worth the money. I just did a frame this weekend using a wet distressing technique: http://reddoorfurnitureco.blogspot.com/2012/10/wet-distressing-with-annie-sloan-chalk.html
