On Friday, I had a Craft Date with Liz! See Cra + dat = CraDat. (Sorry but crate would have been too easy and would have ruined my word making up mojo!) Shannah (me!) + Liz = Shaliz. So, now that you've been entrusted with a handy, dandy Just Us Four decoder ring (keep it handy, you never know when I might throw out a new word), I can get into the details of our cradat.
Like all good (and bad) things, the idea for this sprung from Pinterest.
Liz and I are both pretty addicted and constantly repin each others' finds. So, Liz decided we needed to get together and make some of our pins. Dozens of emails and texts (you're welcome, Verizon, for all the money you got from those texts) later, our cradat was born and a project was chosen. A halloween wreath. What? Are you surprised we are making a wreath? Do you even read this blog? :)
We started with a few inspiration pictures:

Hello, lovely cell phone picture quality.
I knew I wanted to put a spiderweb in my wreath but I could only find plain felt ones. So, I picked up some glitter spray paint and transformed it into a glitter spiderweb.
I have a little more practice with wrapping (addictions will do that to you) so I finished a little faster than Liz.
While I was doing that though, Liz got into a little bit of a yarn mess.
Once we were all done wrapping the wreath forms, it came time to decide what to do with them. I pinned my glittler spider web to the back of my wreath form.
Then, I wanted to add these little glitter spiders around the front of the wreath.
Once I opened the spiders, I found the backs were hollow making my initial plan of glueing them pretty much a lost cause. So, I used the little black wires that were used to attach the spiders to the cardboard when I purchased them. I painted them with a little glue and covered them with black glitter to make sure they blended in well.
Liz worked on adding black yarn to her wreath while I was "painting"
Once my little spiders were attached, I had to find a way to get the big spider onto his web. This will probably change a little because I am not 100% satisfied with it but I used a black pipe cleaner that I cut the most of the fuzziness off of.
Liz hung a HUGE spider in the middle of her wreath.
My entire family was sleeping when I finished so I had to wait until the next morning to show it to H. I think she likes it.
