Project Organization: Chalkboard Labels

Project Organization continues here at Casa de Just Us Four.  The focus right now is on my linen closet.  It isn't ready for prime time yet but I did want to share one part of the project: chalkboard labels.

Part of my closet organization includes these awesome water hyacinth baskets

Traditional labels like I used in my pantry labeling project just won't work with these so I looked for another option.  I remembered using one of the Pick Your Plum clip on labels and thought that would be a great solution for the linen closet dilemma.
The problem: I didn't have any more of them.

What's a crafter to do when she doesn't have what she needs: make more!

I grabbed some little wood rectangles and clothespin from Michaels.
Then, I grabbed some of my chalkboard paint and some painters tape.  I taped off about 1/4 of an inch all the way around the rectangle and then painted the middle.
I did a total of 3 coats waiting about an hour in between each coat.  Then, once the last coat was a little dry, I pulled my painters tape off.
I waited another 24 hours before covering it with chalk to cure it.  Then, I got out my wood glue and clothespins to finish them up.
I just put a little bit of wood glue onto the clothespin and attached it to the back of the painted rectangle
They look pretty close to the original
sorry for the typed writing...my chalk marker was missing!
